This Is England was produced by Warp Films who are a small production company.
Warp Films:
-Warp Films were set up in 1999.
-Based in Sheffield, but also have an office in London.
-14 full-time workers.
-There have been 4 main releases on from Warp Films, all are shown here.
-They are the sister company of record label, Warp Records who have many fairly well known names on there books, such as Aphex Twin, Brian Eno and Maximo Park.
-They worked with Aphex Twin on 2 music videos, and have also worked with Arctic Monkeys, on the scummy man short film.
Shane Meadows:
-Shane Meadows was born on the 26th December 1972.
-He grew up in Staffordshire and dropped out of school just before his GCSEs and at the age of 20 moved to Nottingham.
-From a young age he always had a passion for cinema and often visited the Elite Cinema.
-He studied at Burton College doing a performing arts course.
-Most of his films are set in the Midlands, often inspired by his childhood in Uttoxeter.
-The feature films he has directed are Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee, Somers Town, This Is England, Dead Man's Shoes, Once Upon A Time In The Midlands, A Room For Romeo Brass, Twenty Four Seven and Small Time.
-He has won a number of British Independent Film Awards and "Dead Man's Shoes" was nominated for a BAFTA
-He is also passionate about creating short films and has received many awards for them over the years.
